Out and About
You will find many things to see and do in and around the Flamborough area. For the energetic there are some lovely walks, many of which have circular loops leading back to the cottage or village. Literally across the road is a public footpath that will take you to nearby Danes Dyke, with its nature trail and lovely secluded beach that is exposed at low tide. If you look carefully you may see some of the local deer in and about the woodlands. The nearby coastal path provides unrivalled cliff top views as well as taking in the two lighthouses, coves and beaches that can be found in and around the headland.
Flamborough village is relatively unspoilt, although it does have a good range of local shops, pubs and hotels that serve restaurant or bar meals. For more detailed information check the village community website.
Bempton Cliffs and Bird Sanctuary are only 2 miles away. This site is one of the best renowned in the country and is a mecca for bird watchers who come to see the thousands of birds that nest on the cliffs and feed in the rich waters off the coast. The best time to visit is late Spring to early Summer when the birds are breeding.
The nearby golf courses at Bridlington Links, Flamborough G.C. and Bridlington G.C. all provide a challenging test of golf. Some tremendous coastal views can be taken in whilst enjoying a round or two!
The cottage is also a good base for visiting nearby Stately Homes, parks and Gardens such as Sewerby Hall, Burton Agnes, Nunnington Hall and Castle Howard to name but a few. If a visit to the traditional seaside is the rule of the day, then the resorts of Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough are all close by.
Whatever your choice, you will never be short of anything to do during your stay.
